Andrew Beynon is a lawyer by training originally called to the bar in British Columbia. He is now the Director General in the Lands and Economic Development Sector of the Department of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development in Ottawa. He has more than two decades of experience working on Aboriginal issues, including as Canada's lead counsel for the negotiation of the Nisga'a Treaty. He has participated in the development of new legislation relevant to First Nations and has been a presenter at numerous Aboriginal Law Conferences. Andrew is married with two grown up children and in his spare time collects and restores vintage stereo equipment.
